Self-care it so important when it comes to maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle. I would like to ask you a question: do you take good care of yourself? Do you listen to you body and thoughts? Self-care is a way of making yourself a priority, because the way you take of yourself should be the same in the way you take care of others around you. We tend to forget ourselves sometimes. Not any more, because these self-care moments will only take up 5 minutes of your time!
5 WAYS OF SELF-CARE
1. breathing technique
This might the easiest way of self-care. Did you know that breaking techniques can relieve stress? When you are having a very busy day your body will notice this as well, it might even create stress. This will cause the feeling of feeling rushed. By doing some breathing techniques every day you can create a situation that will calm your body and mind down. Time to unwind. Get in a comfortable position, close your eyes and breath in deep and out again. Try to focus on breathing and nothing else. It might take some practice but after some time you will get better at this technique.
2. Go outside
Get some fresh air. By going outside you allow yourself to take a little break. Walking around for a couple of moments and letting go of the pressure of the day. Allow your thoughts to run freely and take some deep breaths. Getting some fresh air will provide you with more energy and inspiration. You will for sure feel better after this.
One of my favorite ways of self-care! Personally I often use the Rituals app for some assistance (download this for free!). You can choose to meditate for 5 minutes or longer. This app is great for beginners and it’s a great way to calm down and really listen to your body, thoughts and emotions. There’s no need to meditate for a very long time, 5 minutes can also make a great difference in the way you feel. Give it a try.
4. Treat yourself
It’s something a lot of people do when they want to feel happier or when they take a break. They treat themselves with something yummy. Why not poor yourself a big cup of delicious Simplici-Tea tea? The CALM blend is perfect for these moments. Allow yourself 5 minutes to just sit down and enjoy the moment. 5 minutes of calmness before you get along with the rest of the day. These little breaks can make a big difference.
5. Write it down
A self-care moment that is perfect to start your day with or to end the day with. Take a few minutes of your time to sit down, get comfortable (with a big cup of tea or coffee!) and write down some of your emotions and feelings. Reflect on the way you feel. Personally I like to combine this with a gratitude exercise. Write down something you are grateful of. It can be something small or big. This exercise is a great way to focus more on the positive aspects in your life. Try to keep doing this excise every day and it will change the way you look at the world. Create a positive mindset!
